While job roles can vary, decorators and painters are likely to be exposed to the following tasks:
- Erect scaffolding and ladders, placing drop sheets to protect surfaces
- Preparing surfaces by removing old covers, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks and smoothing and sealing surfaces
- Selecting and preparing paints by mixing pigment, oil, thinning and drying additives
- Repairing windows and replacing glass in frames
- Lay and repair wall and floor tiles
- Plus much more!
