If you are a job seeker currently registered with a Workforce Australia Employment Services provider, Skill Hire can help to build skills that allow you to re-enter the workforce with confidence. Through the Career Transition Assistance program (CTA), mature aged job seekers can become more competitive in the local labour market.
Our Career Transition Assistance program facilitators will work with candidates to understand individual needs and skill sets, explore suitable opportunities and transferable skills, all while assisting in the job search process and providing ongoing career support.
This 6 to 8 week course will allow job seekers over 45 to find out how their current skill sets can benefit the modern workforce.

Tailored Career Transition Assistance
The tailored Career Transition Assistance component of the CTA program will help provide participants with practical support to explore goals and motivations, identify existing skill sets and how they transfer to other jobs and industries, better understand job opportunities in the area and identify the skills you might need. Plus, candidates learn how to: update and tailor job applications for different jobs, apply for jobs online and follow up job applications appropriately.
In this 6 week block, you’ll:
- Develop a career pathway plan
- Plan your career and set goals with the help of your facilitator
- Search for jobs and present yourself in a way that reflects who you are
- Develop confidence in your job seeking
Functional Digital Literacy
The Functional Digital Literacy component of the Career Transition Assistance program will help participants build skills and confidence in using every day technology. Throughout the program, participants will have access to digital equipment, the course will help to improve the skills for applying for jobs online and to use technology found throughout the modern workplace.
In this part of the CTA program, you’ll be exposed to cross-platform technology, meaning that you’ll apply for jobs with confidently using all the technological resources available. In this component you’ll:
- Get an introduction to all things digital
- Create accounts, load apps onto your device and set up a voicemail
- Create, publish, save and store documents on the cloud
- Learn about Social media networking and job search abilities
